A Waste Disposer is an electrically-powered device installed in the drain of a kitchen sink that chops food waste into very small pieces so that they can safely be passed through the plumbing wthout clogging. It consists of a high-torque, insulated electric motor driving stainless steel chopping blades. Also called a garbage disposal.
